Lots of water will help cleanse your system and get you back on a healthier track. Many people forget to drink enough water. Remember you should have at least 2 to 3 litres of water per day. If you are active and exercising you should have even more. So think about it: Are you drinking enough?

Many people tend to plan a New Year’s resolution workout schedule with every intention of getting great results, but why not get started now?

If you are already a member of a gym, don’t let the hectic Christmas schedule become an excuse to miss your workouts. Get a good head start on the new year!

If you haven’t a gym membership yet, get onto the road for a run or meet some friends for a five a side game of football. Remember, it doesn’t have to be much, just something to get the heart rate up and the lungs pumping.

  1. Add Healthy Foods or Try Something New

Here are some ideas and principles to get you started. Do you get at least five fruit and vegetable servings in a day? Try making all the grains you eat whole grains. Choose only lean protein foods eg: Turkey, chicken, fish. Eat breakfast daily. Do you drink enough water (see No. 1)? Make a conscience effort to include some good nutrition into your daily meal plan. Or if you are a picky eater, set a small goal to try a new food every week. Remember it takes 20 to 30 times to try something before you acquire a taste for it.
