This is me

Let me start by telling you I am not a trainer.  I have zero qualifications in relation to health and fitness.  I could barely tell you were to find a hamstring from a tricep!!  For those of you who don’t know me, that’s my grinning face in the picture! I’m Louise, 43 years young and married mother of two.  I joined the Ozone team almost a year ago as the company admin and until recently I have suffered from the debilitating problem … ‘Excusitis’!!!

They say “practice what you preach” and the time finally came for me!!  Every day I would chat to, encourage  and see clients reaching their goals, looking great and feeling great and I would think WOW that’s amazing, I’d love to be that committed but I’m too busy, too old, too unfit, too tired etc etc etc excuse after excuse after excuse. This is me poured into my dress before I started ->

My New Years resolution was to stop procrastinating and get fit and healthy, I mean seriously … what a better place to get my act together than my work environment.  I started off ‘doing my own thing’ but found I wasn’t really getting anywhere fast.  I honestly didn’t push myself and my excusitis was rearing its ugly head again so I chatted to the trainers and they suggested I partake in the small group Personal Training! So between you and me (and the internet) I get to train my butt off (hopefully) in lieu of my updates on this blog and with the hope of inspiring someone out there with no fitness background to get stuck in and change their lives for the better!

That was 6 weeks ago and I can honestly say I have never felt better.  In those 6 weeks I have lost a total of 14 cms, six of which were around my waist!  I have lost 2.5kg and dropped a dress size!!  My body fat has come down and my muscle percentage has increased and truthfully I have never felt better both physically and mentally.  I am now in a routine where I get up much earlier in the morning (I was NEVER a morning person) and I get whatever I need to get done so I can make that time for me, for training and meal preparation etc.

My friends and family would tell you how much I abhor photos of myself, no matter how good or bad I feel at the time, so to upload these photos is a huge progression and reflection of how much this program has helped me gain respect, confidence and acceptance in myself.  Granted I have a way to go yet, it’s only been 6 weeks remember, but if this blog inspires even one person to take the plunge and invest in their health and long term happiness then I feel it’s worth sharing!

Follow my weekly blog on our website… it’s a known fact that accountability is key and I know now that I will have ‘Big Brother’ watching me, as terrifying as that can be, it is also what will keep me motivated.  You can laugh and cry with me haha…. (tears of joy of course)!!   I will let you know how my personal training is going here,  my nutrition and my own added sessions on my ‘off days’.

Below is my after 6 weeks shot….my dress is beginning to finally breathe!!!  Watch this space…. I will be back in 6 weeks with my next  ‘measurement update’ and I know, not hope, I KNOW there will be more progress because I am surrounded with support and advice and encouragement and that’s half the battle.  So until next week when I will update you with my highs and lows…wish me luck!!
