Stir-fried pork in black bean sauce

Try this healthy stir-fried pork dish is deliciously low-fat with a great mix of flavours – the perfect midweek dinner.


450g lean pork

1 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

3 tablespoons spring onions, finely chopped

1 tablespoon shallots sliced up

3 tablespoons Black bean garlic sauce

1 teaspoon of caster sugar

1 teaspoon of soy sauce

1 tablespoon of water

1 tablespoon of sesame oil

For the marinade:

1 table teaspoon of soy sauce

Teaspoon of soy sauce

1 tablespoon of rice wine or sherry

1 teaspoon of cornflower


  1. Cut the pork into thin slices. Put the slices into a bowl with the marinade ingredients and mix well. Leave to marinate for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat wok or large frying pan and add vegetable oil. Stir fry your marinated pork for about 3-4 minutes and then place into colander set on a bowl.
  3. Wipe your large pan/wok clean and then add the rest of your vegetable oil. Add then spring onions and shallots. After 1 minute then add the rest of your ingredients, except the sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a boil and then return your pork.
  4. Stir-fry the entire mixture for 2-3 minutes and then add your sesame oil. Transfer to your platter and top off with spring onions.
